"The usual gap between roller and tyre, with the van level, on level ground, is 15 - 20mm, easily checked with a piece of copper domestic water pipe which is 15mm dia. With this allowable tolerance, the roller slipping shouldn't be an issue…"

"I agree with the voltage answers but often this is caused by one slightly slipping on the tyre and not visible to the naked eye . This either because the "off gap" is not the same on each and/or the roller not being parallel to the tyre…"
